What is it?

It's an interactive audio sculpture that translates its swaying motion, triggered by the user, into sound and light.
And how does it work?

The user stands in front of the device. With one or both hands starts to touch, bend and play with the reeds. This causes pitch of the outcoming sounds to change according to movements. LEDs (small little lights) also reflect the reeds movements -the greater the movement, the brighter the LEDs.

Soundtoys

Soundtoys (o nome diz tudo) mas o mais intressante é isto...Soundtoys has just received an Arts Council of England grant to develop the project and to create some commissions as well as a cdrom. In 2005 Soundtoys projects will also tour selected venues in the UK; starting at The Watershed Media Centre, and including the Cybersonica event at The Dana Centre in London, Folly in Lancaster, Blip in Brighton, Bracknell Media Centre.

OROBORO is a novel collaborative controller which focuses on musical performance as social experience by exploring synchronized actions of two musicians operating a single instrument. Each performer uses two paddle mechanisms – one for hand orientation sensing and one for servo-motor actuated feedback. We introduce a haptic mirror in which the movement of one performer’s sensed hand is used to induce movement of the partner’s actuated hand and vice versa.

Audiopad

Audiopad is a composition and performance instrument for electronic music which tracks the positions of objects on a tabletop surface and converts their motion into music. One can pull sounds from a giant set of samples, juxtapose archived recordings against warm synthetic melodies, cut between drum loops to create new beats, and apply digital processing all at the same time on the same table. Audiopad not only allows for spontaneous reinterpretation of musical compositions, but also creates a visual and tactile dialogue between itself, the performer, and the audience.

The KHRONOS PROJECTOR

Ainda só vi uma parte deste projecto e li alguma coisa(pouca),mas pelo que vi parece-me
bastante intressante,manipulação de imagem em tempo real e usando o proce55ing.

The Khronos Projector is an interactive-art installation allowing people to explore pre-recorded movie content in an entirely new way. A classic video-tape allows a simple control of the reproducing process (stop, backward, forward, and elementary control on the reproduction speed). Modern digital players add little more than the possibility to perform random temporal jumps between image frames.

Os fireflies são "nightlights networked" para um ambiente local, por John Schimmel.


The jars can be placed in different bedrooms or other spots around a home so people can communicate with one another through simply tapping on the jars. For example, if you tap the jar in your bedroom you will pulse the colored fireflies associated with that jar. The neighboring jars in your home will receive and pulse your taps, record them and then play them back. The neighboring jars can respond with their own tapping and broadcast themselves to the nightlights in the home.
