Tom Bugs, Goodiepal

This week i have been attending to a series of workshops in Lisbon made by "Um festival".
The first workshop was "building yourself a noize machine" and was presented by Tom Bugs from Bugbrand, that was simple, a kit, some soldering irons, lots of resistors and a whole lot more of capacitators, the end result ...Lots of ours of fun and a cool device with 3 oscillators.
When talking to Tom after the workshop we promised me a interview to be publish here soon.
Then came the Goodiepal workshop and the educational presentation of its book "Mort Aux Vaches Ekstra Extra"
There we talked about music desconstrution, the music tempo and the influence of it in modern music, also some quantum mechanics theories, goodiepal mechanical birds and ofcourse mickey mouse (that is a joke).
The overall result was positive but i think somethimes the crown lost a bit of perspective adressing goodiepal.
Ofcourse a interview will be posted soon here too.
Im really glad of attending this discussion about modern music and the new forms influences to it.

PanEtone board

My friend PanEtone as send me a schematic witch he will use on his workshop.
Its a simple one but a lot of soul in there.
Here is the topic on the workshop.
-Building your first oscillator
-basic electronic components
-have fun with the vactrol synth (also building one)
-basic soldering
-altering the pitch and the clock on a toy
-amplifying and distorting
-playing with body contacts and instruments.
In the final they will play a concert with the instruments build during the workshop.

Sounds like a lot of fun

About the board "you are viewing the component side"- just copy the image and glue to a piece of card them trim and make holes for the components, insert the components and solder together.
For the chips (ic) you can use 40106, 4016 or 4093.

Workshop Circuit Bending

Workshop Circuit Bending
Circuit Bending é a criação de som através da manipulação de dispositivos áudio electrónicos de baixa voltagem, tais como pedais de guitarra, brinquedos de criança ou alguns sintetizadores pequenos, com o intuito de criar novos sons e gerar novas aproximações à estética musical.
Enfatizando as técnicas de randomização, o Circuit Bending é normalmente associado á música de ruído (noise), embora hoje em dia seja utilizado por muitos compositores de música contemporânea. A sua facilidade de execução permite aos seus executanes uma imensa liberdade criativa na criação de novos sons, sem necessitar de profundos conhecimentos em electrónica.

Material necessário: ferro de soldar, chaves variadas, pilhas AA, alicates variados.
Material para bending disponibilizado pela organização.
